Is It Underdosed? is a free site that checks supplement labels against the doses used in published research. Every verdict is arithmetic on the label against a cited reference dose. It isn't medical advice and makes no health claims.
Key numbers
From our pre-workout label study (data pulled 11 Oct 2026), unless stated.
- 11 of 52 best-selling pre-workouts reach the research dose on every key ingredient they list; 21 reach it on none.
- Creatine: 18 list it, 2 give the 3 g a day studies used.
- Beta-alanine: 19 of 47 give the 3.2 g a day studies used.
- 16 of 52 (31%) hide at least one amount in a proprietary blend.
- Caffeine: the middle label has 200 mg a serving; 11 have 300 mg or more.
- On the site today: 449 products checked, 105 of them pre-workouts (methodology 1.11).
How every verdict is reached: methodology. What changed and when: corrections log.
