Ingredient

Sodium Bicarbonate

Research dose

0.2–0.3 g/kg

Evidence: Strong Taken before training: what counts is the amount in the serving you take. The amount scales with bodyweight; product pages use 75 kg unless you change it.

The ISSN position stand: 0.2 g per kg is the minimum single dose and 0.3 g per kg seems optimal, 60–180 minutes before high-intensity exercise lasting about 30 seconds to 12 minutes. Bloating, nausea and stomach pain are its common side effects.
