Evidence: Strong Beta-Alanine works through daily use over weeks: it builds up in the body. A lower daily amount still builds up, just more slowly.
In our pre-workout label study, 47 of 52 best-selling pre-workouts list beta-alanine and 19 reach the research dose.
The ISSN position stand recommends 4–6 g a day. 3.2 g a day also raises muscle carnosine, more slowly (about 42% after 4 weeks), and the meta-analysis found no link between the daily dose and the effect, so lower amounts need a longer loading period.
